Israel: Timeless Wonders

Brief Description

Encounter a land of extraordinary beauty and belief, of spirit and story, history and hospitality. In a small group of only 24 guests, we engage all our senses in this extraordinary and holy land. Begin the 12-day tour in Tel Aviv, Israel’s arts and culture capital, where we take a guided tour including Independence Hall and the “White City” district of distinctive Bauhaus architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the ancient port of Jaffa, its flea market, and Artists’ Quarter of galleries and shops. Travel north along the coast to Caesarea to see ancient Roman ruins before continuing on to the artists’ village of Ein Hod. In the hills of Galilee, stay at a hotel on the grounds of a kibbutz founded in 1916. Visit the biblical sights of Tiberias, the Sea of Galilee, the Mount of Beatitudes, and Nazareth. Continue to Jerusalem for a five-night stay at the legendary King David hotel. Extensive touring through this incredible historic city includes the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, the Old City, the Western Wall, the Church of Holy Sepulcher, the Israel Museum and Ein Karem where we enjoy an ethnic cooking class and local Israeli wines. Travel to the shores of the Dead Sea to explore the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered between 1947 and 1956. View the ruins at Masada, the celebrated mountain stronghold and UNESCO site. Visit Jordan and discover the “rose-red city” of Petra and the capital city of Amman on an optional 5-day/4-night post-tour extension, spending two nights in each city.
