Brief Description

From the depths of Ngorongoro Crater to the Serengeti plains, exotic Zanzibar to coastal Saadani National Park, our small group of only 18 guests encounters the breadth of peaceful Tanzania’s riches: abundant – and incredible – wildlife, tropical shores, varied cultures, and valued traditions. A safari to be savored; an adventure unequaled. Begin your 15-day journey in Arusha and set out on an afternoon game drive in Arusha National Park for your first taste of Tanzania’s unparalleled game view. Enjoy guaranteed window seating in safari vehicles throughout the trip. Explore Ngorongoro Conservation Area, wildlife haven and home to the semi-nomadic Maasai people, whom we visit. Descend to the floor of magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable experience of Africa’s eco-system in microcosm. Visit the 31-mile Olduvai Gorge where anthropologist Mark Leakey discovered the 1.8 million-year-old skull of Australopithecus boisei. Embark on game drives in the vast Serengeti where you have the chance to see some – or all – of Africa’s “Big Five,” along with other plains animals and some 500 species of birds. Fly to tropical Zanzibar, Tanzania’s semiautonomous Indian Ocean archipelago with a storied history, and visit the open air market, the Old Fort, and a spice plantation. Continue to Saadani and enjoy a variety of game-viewing activities at the deluxe Saadani River Lodge before concluding the tour in Dar es Salamm, Tanzania’s largest city.
