Fellowship Opportunity with the McChrystal Group (DC)

The McChrystal Group Leadership Fellowship seeks to provide an avenue for young professionals to gather experiences that will inform their understanding of strategic direction and gather information about the leader they hope to become. With unparalleled exposure to senior leaders and their organizations, the Leadership Fellowship offers a crash course in navigating the philosophy, strategy, and practice of leadership at the highest level.

The Leadership Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for young professionals to work directly with General (Ret) Stan McChrystal in a year of equal parts academic study and pragmatic professional development. In your time as a Fellow, you will develop new skills and perspectives that will, we hope, prepare you to face the leadership challenges that loom on tomorrow’s horizon.

Role

The Leadership Fellow will work directly with General McChrystal, advising him on written content, media appearances, and client speeches. The Fellow will also contribute to the success of the McChrystal Group, an advisory services and leadership development firm that forges adaptable leaders in a modern world. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and presentation skills, proven research skills, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, and the desire to work in a fast-paced and evolving role. The Fellow’s work will culminate in a written publication piece and an oral presentation to the team at McChrystal Group.

The Leadership Fellow will serve for approximately one calendar year, beginning in July, in an effort to ensure the Fellow is provided with a variety of experiences and able to make a meaningful contribution to McChrystal Group as an organization. The Leadership Fellow will need to relocate to the Washington DC area, as they will be based out of McChrystal Group Headquarters, located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The Fellow will be expected to travel several times per month, both domestically and internationally, with General McChrystal.
