Wills for Heroes is a free legal clinic offered by the North Carolina Bar Foundation in which volunteer attorneys draft simple wills, health care power of attorney, and financial power of attorney documents for first responders and their families, free of charge. First responders and their spouses who are eligible for the Wills for Heroes clinic include firefighters, law enforcement officers and EMS personnel. The Wills for Heroes clinic is made possible through the generous support of Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance Company of North Carolina.

This clinic is held in partnership with Duke University School of Law. We are currently in need of attorney and notary volunteers for the in-person notary clinic on April 2, 2022. The notary clinic will be held at the Duke University School of Law.

•8:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | Training followed by client meetings to prepare documents

NOTARY VOLUNTEERS –

•9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Notarizing first responder estate planning documents
