Board Service

To represent and to lead

Duke Alumni Engagement and Development (AED) provides multiple opportunities for alumni to volunteer for board service:

  • The Duke Alumni (DA) Board of Directors is a small group of alumni leaders who are chosen to provide guidance, leadership and active support for alumni events and programs around the world.
  • DA regional boards organize events and activities for alumni in our top 21 cities.
  • Affinity (identity-based) boards provide our alumni with an opportunity to connect with communities based on identity.
  • Women's Forum steering committees, active in 21 cities in the U.S. and U.K., plan and execute events and programs focus on the needs and interest of the Duke alumnae community. 

2022 nominations are open through February 4, 2022.

What Board Members Do

  • Serve as a champion for the Duke alumni community and Duke
  • Gather and share best practices among alumni leaders
  • Serve as a resource to connect alumni with AED programs
  • Recruit and develop volunteer leaders
  • Represent Duke and the alumni community at events in regions and on campus
  • Collect and share feedback from alumni communities
