Join fellow alumni, family, and friends as we explore the mysterious and sometimes misunderstood world of sharks, skates, and rays on Pivers Island, NC with the Duke University Marine Laboratory. Each year participants engage in a new topic with the most up to date research. Past Marine Lab Weekends explored sounds of the sea, marine megafauna, and the ocean floor. Led by some of Duke’s top faculty, it will be an unforgettable and educational Marine Lab experience. What to Expect

During the weekend, you will spend the day in a combination of fascinating lectures, field trips and hands-on work collecting samples and exploring results. You will experience the same state-of-art equipment used in the field by world-acclaimed scientists. Saturday evening allows participants free time to relax and explore the charming, seaside community of Beaufort, NC.
