Our weekends at the Marine Lab offer alumni an informed view of these treasured landscapes and the ecological challenges they face, complete with hands-on activities and field trips to explore the wonders of North Carolina's rich coastline.Duke Marine Lab Beaufort

Each year we engage a new topic with the most up to date research and led by some of the world's leading experts on oceans and the animals who depend on them. Past weekends have explored sounds of the sea, marine megafauna, and the ocean floor. Make your reservation today, as this is one of the most poplar Forever Learning programs.

What to Expect

During the weekend, you will spend the day in a combination of fascinating lectures, field trips and hands-on work collecting samples and exploring results. You will experience the same state-of-art equipment used in the field by world-acclaimed scientists. Saturday evening allows participants free time to relax and explore the charming, seaside community of Beaufort, NC.
