Help combat food insecurity in East Durham by building garden boxes for East Durham Children's Initiative (EDCI) families and the East Durham community. As a result of a generous grant from the Town and Country Garden Club, EDCI is able to build garden boxes outside its office for community use as well as in yards of families that have attended gardening workshops.

Volunteer with the Duke Triangle community in helping EDCI in this endeavor! In addition to building, activities include planting and interacting with EDCI staff, parents, and children. No gardening experience or expertise is necessary. With your help, we can give EDCI families a beautiful garden that they can enjoy for years to come!

Families are welcome.

EDCI is also looking for donations of soil, compost, plants, and hoses. If you are interested in providing an in-kind or monetary donation, please contact Amy Stopford at amy.stopford@edci.org for more information.
