Conversations with Leaders is a new virtual series presented by Duke University Development and co-sponsored by the Duke University Hispanic and Latino Alumni Association (DUHLAA). The inaugural event features Enrique Peñalosa ’77, who will discuss “Creating Quality Cities: A Critical Challenge of Our Time.”
Drawing from his two terms as mayor of Bogotá, Colombia, and his vast experience advising governments around the globe, Peñalosa predicts that urban growth will multiply dramatically over the next 50 years. Further, he contends that cities can be a powerful means to achieve equity, quality of life and economic competitiveness. Following his remarks, Peñalosa will address questions submitted by registrants. The discussion will be moderated by Ambassador Patrick Duddy, Director, Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies at Duke.
