Join Duke alumni and other community volunteers at the annual Boys & Girls Night Out with the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF). Each year, the BGCSF matches 100 girls with 100 women and 100 boys with 100 men for two, one-day "buddy" events filled with fun and games. Each night includes fun-filled, carnival-style events. It's an opportunity for Club members to meet, dine and interact with a caring adult from their own community or beyond—someone who might inspire them to think about the future and to dream big!
There are four opportunities to volunteer:
- March 22, 4:45–8 p.m. (Boys Night Out) as a "buddy" (men only)
- March 22, 4:45–8 p.m. (Boys Night Out) as an event volunteer (all alumni)
- March 23, 4:45–8 p.m.(Girls Night Out) at a "buddy" (women only)
- March 23, 4:45–8 p.m. (Girls Night Out) as an event volunteer (all alumni)
Buddies will be paired with elementary-aged youth, and together participate in a carnival-style activity fair which includes arts & crafts, sports & fitness, a healthy delicious meal and more. In addition to RSVPing below, you will need to register with BGCSF as well. Registration as a "buddy" opportunity is $40 (+ $3.04 fee), which includes a t-shirt and dinner.
Event volunteers will manage one of the activity stations and help the kids and adult buddies participate. This includes explaining the instructions of the activity, managing the lines, building the excitement and more. This is a fun way to be a part of the event and play a role in providing a great experience for everyone involved! In addition to RSVPing below, you will need to register with BGCSF as well. Registration as an event volunteer is free.
Please wear your Duke blue! There will be a pre- and post-service reflection period for alumni.

Event Refund Policy
Event Cancellation by Sponsor
The Duke Alumni Association (DAA) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.If DAA cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.
Registration Cancellation by Participant
Unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 5 business days before the event. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event. Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment. These above policies apply to all DAA Events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please read all individual event information thoroughly.
