HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Art Basel Week (also known as Miami Art Week) in Miami has become a thriving international contemporary and modern arts destination. Since its inception in 2002, it has grown to over 20 fairs and a countless number of other events, concerts, and unrelated shows. Each fair has participating shows, exhibition sectors, and artwork, many with parallel programming produced in collaboration with Miami’s local institutions.
Alumni events during Art Basel Week have turned into some of the Duke Alumni Association's most popular alumni events -- growing from regional programming that once drew alumni from Florida only to a global event drawing alumni from all over the world. Last December, over 500 alumni and friends attended the Miami Art Basel Brunch and participated in lectures at the intersection of art and academia with Duke faculty and attended Duke networking events during Art Basel Week.
The Duke Alumni Association is collaborating with a number of people on and off campus, such as The Nasher Museum of Art, Duke South Florida, DEMAN and more, to create a phenomenal festival experience with events throughout the weekend for all alumni, parents and friends.
As in years past, the Duke Alumni Association would love to feature artists and collectors who may be exhibiting or hosting events during Art Basel Week. If you would like to share details of your event with your fellow alumni who will attend Art Basel Week, please give us the information by completing this form.
