Duke at Art Basel, Miami is Back and Bigger Than Ever

This year, the Annual Duke at Art Basel Brunch will be in a new, even bigger location overlooking the bay. If you’ve been before, you know this is a fantastic weekend to reconnect with other alumni from around the world.

In addition to a brunch event on the morning of Saturday, December 9, the Duke Alumni Association is working to host additional events during the weekend of the festival (December 8-10). While location, exact timing, and other details are still being finalized, we do hope you will plan to join us for the "dense and dynamic" show and gathering of artists.

Tentative

  1. Friday, December 8 (evening): Special appreciation event for sponsors, volunteers and the Duke at Art Basel - Miami host committee members (invitation only)
  2. Saturday, December 9 (evening): Duke Alumni Networking Celebration
    Hosted by Duke Black Alumni (DBA) and Duke University Hispanic/Latino Alumni Association (DUHLAA)(all alumni invited)
  3. Sunday, December 10 (mid-morning): Forever Learning Breakfast

New for 2017: TOURS
We are planning to offer scheduled guided tours on Saturday afternoon. This will be a great opportunity to see and learn about some of the finest art works of recent times.

The Duke Alumni Association is collaborating with a number of people on and off campus, such as The Nasher Museum of Art, Duke South Florida, DEMAN and more, to create a phenomenal festival experience with events throughout the weekend for all alumni, parents and friends.

As in years past, the Duke Alumni Association would love to feature artists and collectors who may be exhibiting or hosting events during Art Basel Week. If you would like to share details of your event with your fellow alumni who will attend Art Basel Week, please give us the information by completing this form.

Registration for Duke at Art Basel Week in Miami will open mid-October. Events tend to reach capacity very quickly. If you are planning to attend, and would like to be among the first to register, please add your name to the "interested" list. You will receive an email with registration information before we open it up to all alumni.

Event Refund Policy

Event Cancellation by Sponsor

The Duke Alumni Association (DAA) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.If DAA cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Registration Cancellation by Participant

Unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 5 business days before the event. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event. Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment. These above policies apply to all DAA Events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please read all individual event information thoroughly.
