Wesley Hogan AM'95, PhD'00, Director of the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University (CDS), will share a short summary of CDS’s many programs and its impact. Specifically, she will highlight two strategic initiatives of CDS: the Documentary Diversity Project (DDP) and the new DocX (Doc Exchange) Lab.
To further illustrate the type of work happening at CDS, the Center’s Senior Research Scholar and renowned best-selling author Timothy B. Tyson PhD'94 will speak about his award-winning book The Blood of Emmett Till. Specifically, Tyson will address how Till’s case can help us to better understand the challenges our nation faces today.
