Forever Duke Welcome Parties provide a fun and personal way to introduce relocating alumni from all schools to everything that Duke has to offer in their new hometown. This year, most Forever Duke Welcome Parties will take place on Wednesday, October 18. Here is the list of all parties around the world. These events are being hosted by regional groups and are a great chance to introduce alumni to the local Duke community in their new cities, introduce local Duke alumni programming, and encourage engagement. Whether you are new to your city or have been there for a while, we hope you will join us to celebrate Duke, build some new relationships and learn about ways to be involved.
Join fellow Dukies at one of the Pearl's most welcoming spaces: Thelonious Wines.
Many years in the making, Thelonious Wines is the brainchild of two Sommeliers seeking to bridge the gap between the restaurant and retail experience. The result? A modest, unpretentious retail space and wine loft where you can find rare wines that please your palette. The emphasis here is ever on quality. Whether grand cru, cult, or natural, selections are straightforward: pure representations of place (terroir) with little to no manipulation.
Thelonious Wines is honored to showcase a small, unique collection of cellared wines, and they encourage guests to drink wines that have the proper bottle age. The wine world is their trade and they search relentlessly for selections that will keep guests interested. Most importantly, Thelonious Wines aspires to be a warm neighborhood wine bar which finds and nourishes its community.
Taste some special blends and enjoy the ambience of this wonderful wine bar.
There is no cost to attend these events but please help our alumni volunteers plan accordingly by registering.
Complimentary appetizers provided while they last! Wine and light food available for purchase.
