Latinos make up less than 4% of Fortune 500 board seats. Yet Latinos are a major force of the U.S. economy. Latinos accounted for 82% of the growth in U.S. labor-force participation between 2010 and 2017 and the purchasing power of the Latino community is expected to top $1.9 trillion by 2023.

The Fuqua School of Business, the Duke University Hispanic/Latino Alumni Association (DUHLAA), and DHR International have partnered on a virtual program to support getting Hispanic and Latino/a/x Duke alumni talent on private and public boards.

In this three-part webinar series, executive search experts, seasoned board directors, and board decision makers will uncover potential challenges and opportunities that apply to you and your future in board service. Attendees will walk away with a personal and tactical plan to becoming board ready.

In this first webinar, you will participate in a robust discussion about today’s boardroom agenda and the valuable skills required for the next generation of corporate board directors. Your own corporate experience will be translated to the skill sets applicable to the strategic board environment. This session will be moderated by Ricardo Duque MBA '06

In Session 1 we will:
1. Engage with Esther Aguilera, CEO, Latino Corporate Directors Association

2. Learn about qualifications and experiences that translate well to corporate board service

3. Create your own Value Proposition relative to your future candidacy for open board roles
