Our latest Duke Nashville Salon Series conversation will merge Nashville’s roots as Music City with leading medical research from a Duke alum.

"Music lights your brain on fire," says Jonathan Burdette, MD, B.S.E.’89, a neuroimager at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In a conversation with alumni host Bruce Doeg A.B.'87, Dr. Burdette will take Duke alumni and parents on a music-brain journey showing images of the brain as a complex network and how music “lights up” the entire brain.

Dr. Burdette will share how listening to your favorite music changes important brain networks. And he will explain how the rhythm of music can be used as rehabilitation in neurologic conditions like Parkinson’s Disease.
