Join the Duke Houston Reading Group in discussing Liliana's Invincible Summer: A Sister's Search for Justice, written by Houston-based author Cristina Rivera Garza. In this memoir, Rivera Garza confronts the trauma of losing her younger sister to gender violence and examines how this tragedy continues to shape who she is and what she fights for today.
Rivera Garza is a Distinguished Professor in Hispanic Studies and Director of Creative Writing at the University of Houston. Her memoir was the 2024 Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Memoir or Autobiography.
