Join us as we continue our Centennial year celebration with Duke’s Vice President and Vice Provost of Student Affairs Mary Pat McMahon, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education Candis Watts Smith A.B.’06, A.M.’08, Ph.D.’11, and current Duke students from the Philadelphia area as they discuss how today’s undergraduates experience Duke and all it has to offer. We are delighted to welcome back to Philly as our moderator for the evening, Jim Rosenfield A.B.’81, P’16, former evening co-anchor at NBC10. 

As we honor our traditions and look forward to Duke’s second century, we’re excited to host this celebration in the Free Library on the Parkway, designed by Julian Abele who also designed the iconic buildings of Duke University.

Throughout its first 100 years, Duke has continually reinvented the student experience as it developed into a globally respected university.  As the student body's needs have continued to evolve, Duke continues to make bold changes to ensure those students thrive in a supportive environment. You’ll hear first-hand from current students sharing their experiences at Duke and describe how new programs—such as  Experiential Orientation, Spark, and DukeLIFE—have impacted their academic journeys and personal growth.

AED Event Refund Policy

Event Cancellation by Sponsor

Duke Alumni Engagement and Development (AED) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If AED cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Registration Cancellation by Participant

Unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 5 business days before the event. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event. Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment. These above policies apply to all AED Events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please read all individual event information thoroughly.
