The Duke Alumni Association is requesting recommendations and nominations for membership on its board of directors. The DAA board comprises current students and alumni from each of the university's undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools, as well as many of its other interest groups and constituencies. The board meets on campus three times a year. Members, who serve two-year terms, advise the staff of the Office of Alumni Affairs on programs and benefits for current students and graduates. Board members are expected to represent DAA in their cities and serve as the collective "voice" of alumni. This role takes place both formally and informally through interaction with students, faculty, administrators, and external parties. To nominate someone, go to www.dukealumni.com/boardnominate and complete the form, which you can submit online. Or you may send names and qualifications (no self-nominations, please) to Sterly Wilder '83, executive director of Alumni Affairs and DAA secretary, Alumni House, Box 90572, Durham, N.C. 27708; or to sterly.wilder@daa.duke.edu. The deadline is March 16. |
