Students from the Durham School of the Arts were invited to the Nasher Museum in February for a performance by musician Wu Man on the pipa, a 2,000-year-old traditional Chinese instrument. Among the songs on the program was Chen Yi's "Ancient Dances," a new multimedia piece exploring the relationship between calligraphy and music. As part of the visit, students were invited to take part in a hands-on calligraphy class. |
