Forever Duke starts today

Student Programs

From the moment you decide to come to Duke, you’re part of our family. We are here to help you celebrate your Duke moments, get the most from your time on campus and start thinking about life after graduation. Here are just a few of the ways that you can connect and engage with Duke alumni as a student.

Learning by Jamming

Grammy-nominated drummer Jeremy Jones '02 and Delta Rae founder Eric Hölljes '07 returned to campus for DEMAN Weekend to lead a workshop with students on navigating the music industry and to participate in a jam session with students at Duke's campus music label Small Town Records.

What Students Can Do

No matter where you are in your Duke journey, the Duke Alumni Association offers ways to celebrate Duke traditions, explore life after graduation and tap into Duke’s global alumni network.

Freshmen: Welcome to the family

At Duke, we begin introducing students to the alumni network even before they arrive through our summer Send-off Parties. When you arrive, we give you your Freshman Directory to help you get to know your classmates and learn your way around Duke. Then it's time to start learning about the Duke alumni community and what it means to be Forever Duke.

Sophomores: Choose your adventure

You’re starting to define your path at Duke and beyond. We give you access to our alumni directory so you can explore the career paths of alumni in different majors.

Juniors: Let alumni be your guide

This year is all about decisions – where to study abroad, what internships to pursue, how to prepare for the career you want. We connect you with people who have been there. Watch for alumni panels and talks on navigating these important decisions successfully.

Seniors: Ready to launch

With senior-focused programs such as alumni networking events, we give you the tools to make a smooth transition for life after Duke. We've created a senior checklist at to help you manage the path to alumnihood. We also collaborate with student groups such as the Senior Class Council to celebrate your Duke career and prepare you for the great things ahead.

Graduate and professional students

While grad students have the same passion for Duke as undergrads, they often have specific needs that require a more tailored approach. The Duke Alumni Association works with schools and departments to ensure graduate and professional students have seamless access to alumni and career networking within their fields.
