The first Duke Europe Women's Forum event of 2023 is a time management workshop facilitated by Kelly Nolan, an attorney-turned-time management strategist. After experiencing overwhelm as a young patent litigator in Boston, Kelly figured out a time management system to help her show up in the ways that she wanted to at work and at home—without requiring her brain to somehow magically remember it all.

Duke UK Community Service and the Duke UK Women's Forum are collaborating on an upcoming event in May 2023, the 25th Anniversary MoonWalk to support Walk the Walk, the UK's largest grant making breast cancer charity in the UK. Come take on this amazing, fun challenge with a team of fellow Dukies, walking through the streets of London, raising awareness, investing in prevention, and supporting those living with breast and other cancers.

The panel provided valuable insights on the professional and personal levels for all attendees.

The panel of business leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs spoke about what it takes to defy industry stereotypes and trailblaze in the tech industry, the skills needed to thrive in the 2.0 Economy, and what we can do to ensure that the next generation of women follows their lead.

The Duke Houston Women's Forum collaborated with the Fuqua School of Business for a Table for Six (TF6) focused on women in leadership. The speakers included experts from a variety of industries and functions such as finance, marketing and brand management, architectural building planning, and entrepreneurship.

On January 26, 2019, the SoCal DWF put on a half day dedicated to women’s health and wellness. During the day, expert Duke alumnae and parent professionals lead small group discussions on topics such as nutrition, mental health, physical therapy, and women’s health.  They also enjoyed a group yoga practice and meditation, as well as healthy snacks.

The DukeNY Women's Forum presented a series of Neighborhood Coffees, Cocktails and Conversations during the weeks of October 1st and 8th in twelve NYC-metro locations within New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. At the events, Duke women—alumnae and parents—of all ages gathered for coffee, wine, hors d’oeuvres and conversation aimed at connecting them with each other and strengthening local relationships.

combat homelessness. The conversation featured Carol Collard, President and CEO of CaringWorks; Jack Hardin, chair of the Regional Commission on Homelessness; and Brad Schweers, Executive Director of Intown Collaborative Ministries.

On November 9, 2017, Tampa alumnae gathered for the fall 2017 speaker event, "Wellness and the Benefits of a Ketogenic Lifestyle." We learned both from Dr. Lisa Koche and from each other's journeys through the world of healthier eating. It was agreed that while the desserts did not perfectly match the topic, they still tasted awesome. Who says you can't have a little fun while learning?

On October 4th, Houston alumnae attended a self-defense training class.

On June 22nd, celebrity Chef Tre Wilcox and his team guided alumni through preparing a three-course meal. Participants were divided into three groups with each group being responsible for preparing one of the three courses. Chef Tre was the emcee for the evening, going from kitchen to kitchen to ask participants about their choices and strategies.

The Nashville Women's Forum held their inaugural event on April 19th featuring Stacy Gardner B.S.E.'91, PhD, Vanderbilt engineering professor and Director of the Center for STEM Education for Girls at the Harpeth Hall School.

Over 40 volunteers attended the Women’s Forum Leadership Conference held on Feb 18 in downtown Durham. The inaugural event kicked off with a keynote by Lois Shannon ’84, former consulting and marketing executive and founder of The Women’s Network. Attendees then joined concurrent sessions on the new alumni network and leadership development and structured “How did you?” discussion groups to share ideas and questions.

Every year, the Colorado Women’s Forum holds its annual Neighborhood Coffee, Cocktails & Conversation event the first two weeks in November in various locations around the state.  The Wash Park (Denver) gathering held on November 2nd, now in its 4th year, continues to be our largest!

The Women's Forum in Colorado hosted its final Four Course dinner of 2016 in October, a sold-out sushi feast and discussion on "Navigating College Admissions Today." Karen Herbst '87, an independent college counselor, educated attendees on navigating the college admissions process, providing insights on what colleges are seeking and how students and parents can best approach the college admissions process.

Each month (generally) we will have two events - book group and either a drinks or informal talk. Book group and informal talks will be held at the Interchange in Camden and drinks will be at various London locations.  Book Groups are on Tuesdays and Drinks and Talks are on Wednesdays.

We’re so excited to offer our very first breakfast event in the Denver metro area featuring a panel of distinguished Duke alumnae who have navigated the enormously challenging issue of work-life balance. We’re also excited to present our panelists “fishbowl” style, where panelists share their strategies and experiences with each other in an informative, casual conversational setting, and audience members can jump in and join the discussion at any time.

By now you all know that we use the term “coffee” loosely. With a variety of gatherings held around the state, you’ll find that each event is different, and you could experience anything from bowling or whiskey tasting to hiking and picnicking (and yes, coffee and cocktails) somewhere in your vicinity. This is the event that brings us “home” to our Duke experience even though we’re 1,600 miles from campus.  Be on the lookout for exact dates and locations coming soon.

Duke Baltimore and Duke Women’s Forum joined forces on July 16 to help clean up Herring Run in conjunction with Blue Water Baltimore as part of Duke Alums Engage 2016. Alums brought their families for a fun couple of hours engaging with other Blue Devils while cleaning up the stream.

Giving back and supporting others is part of the Duke culture, and on August 26 Duke alumnae gave their time offering support in a very tangible way. The Baltimore Women’s Forum sponsored an evening at Ronald McDonald House where they cooked dinner and provided fun evening activities for the families residing there.

On May 19, DukeLaw NorCal and NorCal Women's Forum co-hosted a fascinating panel of female General Counsels from a range of Bay Area companies.  Harvard Law collaborated on the event, following a model successfully executed with a Women in Judiciary panel co-hosted with Stanford Law Alumni Association.  DLA Piper through partner and event moderator Michael Torosian L'00 generously hosted the event providing a venue centrally located on the peninsula as well as hosting catering.

The DukeDC Women's Forum gathered for Spring 2016 Neighborhood Coffees thanks to the support and organization of 14 alumnae hostesses and family members, as well as DukeDC Regional Co-Chair and Women's Forum Steering Committee member Anna Pfeiffer '77.  Duke women of all ages met for informal get-togethers and enjoyed a glass of wine or other beverage, light fare and meaningful conversation.
