The first Duke Europe Women's Forum event of 2023 is a time management workshop facilitated by Kelly Nolan, an attorney-turned-time management strategist. After experiencing overwhelm as a young patent litigator in Boston, Kelly figured out a time management system to help her show up in the ways that she wanted to at work and at home—without requiring her brain to somehow magically remember it all.

Duke UK Community Service and the Duke UK Women's Forum are collaborating on an upcoming event in May 2023, the 25th Anniversary MoonWalk to support Walk the Walk, the UK's largest grant making breast cancer charity in the UK. Come take on this amazing, fun challenge with a team of fellow Dukies, walking through the streets of London, raising awareness, investing in prevention, and supporting those living with breast and other cancers.

On February 28, 2020, alumnae gathered for a candid panel conversation featuring Laura A. Menninger '91, P'23, Kim Johnson '88, Heather Prochnow Brecl '94, Summer Puente '11 and moderated by Brandalyn Powell MBA'18, on navigating fear, failure, feminism and a flock of other F words. The panel provided valuable insights on the professional and personal levels for all attendees.

The Duke Austin Women's Forum  kicked off 2020 with a Neighborhood Conversation on January 23, 2020. Area women enjoyed the opportunity to meet and catch up with classmates, neighbors, co-workers and other friends who share the Duke affiliation.

On January 19, 2020, the SoCal Women's Forum held a half-day dedicated to women’s health and wellness, with expert Duke alumnae professionals leading discussions on topics including maternal health, mental health, and art therapy.

On October 30, 2019, the Duke Women's Forum hosted a panel titled "Duke Women STEAMing Ahead: A View from the Front Lines of Technological Innovation." The panel of business leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs spoke about what it takes to defy industry stereotypes and trailblaze in the tech industry, the skills needed to thrive in the 2.0 Economy, and what we can do to ensure that the next generation of women follows their lead.

The Duke Baltimore Women's Forum hosted a brunch discussion with executive career Coach Kiban Turner AM'96, PhD'98 titled "How to Build a Successful Life That Works for You."

The Duke Houston Women's Forum collaborated with the Fuqua School of Business for a Table for Six (TF6) focused on women in leadership. The speakers included experts from a variety of industries and functions such as finance, marketing and brand management, architectural building planning, and entrepreneurship.

On September 22, 2019, the Duke Philadelphia Women's Forum hosted a tea with author Irene Levy Baker P'19. Irene shared stories from her newly published book Unique Eats & Eateries of Philadelphia.

Women from the Nashville area gathered on December 10, 2019 for the second annual potluck holiday party. 

From November 12-19, Duke NY Women's Forum hosted several informal events in homes around the area as part of the annual Neighborhood Conversations series. 

On May 18th, Duke women gathered for a hike in the south bay. The event was designed to help attendees rejuvenate their mind and body. 

Duke women in the triangle area met for an exclusive guided tour of the Nasher Museum, Pop América 1965-1975 Exhibition. Following the tour, the group gathered for lunch in the Nasher cafe. 

On May 11, 2019, alumnae gathered in a relaxed and inspirational setting to learn about "Knowing Your Worth" from executive compensation attorney Leanne Reagan J.D.'08, and socialize with one another. 

On June 4, 2019, alumnae gathered in Sammamish, Washington, to make Asian potstickers from the cookbook, A Common Table: 80 Recipes and Stories from My Shared Cultures, authored by Cynthia Chen McTernan '10.

On April 16, 2019, alumnae in Houston learned about quick and easy ways to make small changes to their nutrition that will lead to a large impact on their health and energy level.

On April 7, 2019, the DukeDC Women's Forum hosted a tour of the Glenstone Museum. After the event, the group gathered for tea. 

On April 3, 2019, alumnae in DC gathered for a panel discussion on the role of spirituality in our lives today. This conversation was designed for people of all backgrounds and experiences, from organized religion to individual interpretations of spirituality, to atheism and agnosticism. 

On March 24, 2019, alumnae walked the Richmond slave trail and learned more about the history of the city. 

On January 26, 2019, the SoCal DWF put on a half day dedicated to women’s health and wellness. During the day, expert Duke alumnae and parent professionals lead small group discussions on topics such as nutrition, mental health, physical therapy, and women’s health.  They also enjoyed a group yoga practice and meditation, as well as healthy snacks.

On February 22, 2019, alumnae gathered on historic boathouse row at the Sedgeley Club, home of the city’s only operating lighthouse, for a discussion with Sanyin Siang '96, MBA'02, CEO coach, author, associate professor at the Pratt School of Engineering and the executive director of the Fuqua/Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics (COLE). 

On February, 22, 2019, Colorado alumnae gathered to learn about negotiations strategies. 

The Houston Women's Forum hosted "A New Perspective on Goal Setting and New Year's Resolutions" event with Arlene Schneider P '19 on January 31, 2019. Arlene facilitated a fantastic and engaging session on setting specific, measurable, and attainable goals. 

Triangle alumnae kicked off the 2019 in style with a southern brunch at the Mayton Inn in Cary, NC. 

The Houston Women's Forum hosted kicked off the holidays at the annual holiday social on December 12, 2018. 

The Nashville Women's Forum hosted a holiday party on December 4, 2018. 

From alumnae venture capitalists to women-led start-ups, Duke women are staking their claim in the entrepreneurial space. On November 14, 2018, the Boston Women's Forum hosted an inspiring conversation with alumnae who are launching new businesses, seed funding new companies and pioneering solutions in multiple sectors.

On November 4, 2018, Duke alumnae in the LA area met to hike the West Griffith Observatory Trail at Griffith Park. 

On November 14, 2018, the DukeNY Women's Forum hosted an evening with Duke leaders in the arts. The event featured a preformance by the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company. 

On October 2, 2018, Duke alumnae gathered in the Philly area for a Women's Forum Neighborhood Conversation.

Duke women in the Sammamish area got together on October 6, 2018 for a neighbhood conversation hosted by the Women's Forum. 

The DukeNY Women's Forum presented a series of Neighborhood Coffees, Cocktails and Conversations during the weeks of October 1st and 8th in twelve NYC-metro locations within New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. At the events, Duke women—alumnae and parents—of all ages gathered for coffee, wine, hors d’oeuvres and conversation aimed at connecting them with each other and strengthening local relationships. 

On September 26, 2018, the Tampa Women's Forum hosted President and CEO of United Way Suncoast, Suzanne McCormick '89. Suzanne spoke to Duke alumnae on the topic  "Authentic Leadership: Is it Harder for Women than Men?". 

On September 7, 2018, the Charlotte Women's Forum held their annual summer social. 

On August 18, 2018,  Duke alumni, families and friends gathered for a morning at the Patapsco Valley State Park to celebrate the end of summer and the start of the upcoming school year. 

The Nashville Women's Forum steering committee met on August 13, 2018 to plan events for the year. 

On July 28, 2018, Duke Women's Forum leaders organized a trip to the WNBA All-Stars game. Duke alumna and WNBA President Lisa Borders'79, joined the group. 

On July 14, Duke alumnae came together to serve breakfast at My Sister's Place Women's Center, a resource center for homeless and impoverished women and children in Baltimore City.

Each holiday season, DukeDC Women's Forum sponsors youth who are in the Montgomery County foster care system. Be a blessing to one of these young people this December by purchasing a gift from one of the wish lists. Follow this link to purchase a gift to be delivered by December 13th.

On June 23, 2018 the Richmond Women's Forum went rafting on the James River. 

The Nashville Women's Forum held the inaugural meeting of their quarterly book club on June 6, 2018. The group read the freshman reading book for the Class of 2022: Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward.  

On May 17, 2018, Atlanta Duke women gathered for conversation over wine at City Winery in the Ponce City Market. 

On March 20, 2018 the Atlanta Women's Forum hosted a thought-provoking conversation featuring leaders in the ongoing effort to
combat homelessness. The conversation featured Carol Collard, President and CEO of CaringWorks; Jack Hardin, chair of the Regional Commission on Homelessness; and Brad Schweers, Executive Director of Intown Collaborative Ministries. 

On March 13, 2018, more than 30 alumnae participated in round table discussions led by Duke graduates on the topics of volunteering, board leadership, philanthropy, launching a nonprofit, and Duke WIN. 

Austin alumnae gathered on March 1, 2018 for their annual spring Cocktails and Conversations. 

On February 28, 2018, Houston alumane gathered for an open steering committee meeting. Attendees discussed the upcoming programming year and ways to engage regional Duke women. 

Charlotte alumnae celebrated spring  with 3 Neighborhood Conversations events in South Charlotte (3/27/18), Uptown (3/28/18) and Myers Park (4/16/18).

Duke alumnae in the DC metro region gathered together during the 2018 spring Neighborhood Coffees series.  Events were offered in Capitol Hill, Arlington, Fairfax, Bethesda, Shaw, Chevy Chase and Georgetown. 

On May 19, 2018, Duke alumnae in SoCal took a relaxing morning walk through the beautiful Caltech campus, followed by coffee and tea at a local coffee shop.

The Duke Nashville Women’s Forum gathered to plan alumnae events for the upcoming year.

The Houston Women's Forum gathered together for a fun and festive happy-hour to kick off the holiday season. Over fifteen Houston area alumnae joined in on the fun, and everyone had a enjoyable evening of socializing and celebrating!

On November 9, 2017, the North Texas Women's Forum hosted a Poker Salon geared towards teaching the basics of how to play No Limit Texas Hold'em style poker, the most popular version of poker.

On November 15, 2017, the Philadelphia Women's Forum hosted a discussion titled : "Finding and Pursuing Your Reinvention". the discussion featured Lesley Jane Seymour '78, journalist and media entrepreneur; MaryFrances Moriarty McCourt '83, University of Pennsylvania vice president for finance and treasurer; and Amy Lutz, '85, former engineer and consultant and current chef and owner of Catering by Amy.

On November 9, 2017, Tampa alumnae gathered for the fall 2017 speaker event, "Wellness and the Benefits of a Ketogenic Lifestyle." We learned both from Dr. Lisa Koche and from each other's journeys through the world of healthier eating. It was agreed that while the desserts did not perfectly match the topic, they still tasted awesome. Who says you can't have a little fun while learning?

Duke alums in Northern California volunteered at Goodwill on October 14, 2017. Thirty alumni turned out for this event hosted by Duke Engage and Women's Forum.

On November 11, 2017, the Charlotte Women's Forum hosted Softball Coach Marissa Young for a conversation on the newest women's sport at Duke and building and developing female leaders.

South Florida alumnae joined together for a dinner and gallery walk through the heart of Miami's arts community on October 23, 1017. The event was hosted by the South Florida Women's Forum.

On October 11, 2017, the NorCal Women's Forum presented a panel titled "Women in Media—Perspectives on Using Independent Film, Branding and Audio Production to Harness the Power of Stories".

More than 150 alumnae attended the fall Neighborhood Coffees, Cocktails and Conversations hosted by the DukeNY Women's Forum. The events were held over a two week period all around the tri-state area.

Over 45 NorCal alumni joined together on October 2, 2017 for a panel titled "College Sexual Assault - Going Beyond Awareness". The event was sponsored by the DukeNorCal Women's Forum.

The DukeDC Women's Forum enjoyed their annual wine tasting and tour on September 9, 2017.

On August 10, 2017, as part of the “Dinners for 8” series around the Bay Area, the NorCal Women’s Forum hosted a dinner in Palo Alto. The dinner resulted in great conversation in a small-group setting.

On October 4th, Houston alumnae attended a self-defense training class.

On June 22nd, celebrity Chef Tre Wilcox and his team guided alumni through preparing a three-course meal. Participants were divided into three groups with each group being responsible for preparing one of the three courses. Chef Tre was the emcee for the evening, going from kitchen to kitchen to ask participants about their choices and strategies.

The Nashville Women's Forum held their inaugural event on April 19th featuring Stacy Gardner B.S.E.'91, PhD, Vanderbilt engineering professor and Director of the Center for STEM Education for Girls at the Harpeth Hall School. 

Over 40 volunteers attended the Women’s Forum Leadership Conference held on Feb 18 in downtown Durham. The inaugural event kicked off with a keynote by Lois Shannon ’84, former consulting and marketing executive and founder of The Women’s Network. Attendees then joined concurrent sessions on the new alumni network and leadership development and structured “How did you?” discussion groups to share ideas and questions.

The Austin Women’s Forum joined together for a fun evening at Anna Morales’ home in Westlake Hills on March 9, 2017. The women enjoyed cocktails as they mixed, mingled and connected. It was a successful event as we kicked off our Austin WF programming for 2017

Over 20 Duke women attended the North Texas Women's Forum Neighborhood Coffees, Cocktails and Conversations on April 4, 2017.

A combination of networking and learning from outstanding Duke women, held in a prominent international law firm, made this event top notch.   Four high-achieving Colorado Duke women shared their experiences, successes and challenges with managing work-life balance, in a unique and intimate format called a “fish bowl” and moderated by an experienced Duke alumnae moderator.   

Every year, the Colorado Women’s Forum holds its annual Neighborhood Coffee, Cocktails & Conversation event the first two weeks in November in various locations around the state.  The Wash Park (Denver) gathering held on November 2nd, now in its 4th year, continues to be our largest!

Duke North Texas hosted an event with local alumni who shared their experiences with, and insights into, Chamber Music, against the backdrop of a live performance by an SMU string quartet.

Boston-based Duke alumnae dine and discuss at Commonwealth and Worden Hall restaurants as part of Boston DWF's inaugural Restaurant Night.

The Women's Forum in Colorado hosted its final Four Course dinner of 2016 in October, a sold-out sushi feast and discussion on "Navigating College Admissions Today." Karen Herbst '87, an independent college counselor, educated attendees on navigating the college admissions process, providing insights on what colleges are seeking and how students and parents can best approach the college admissions process.

Each month (generally) we will have two events - book group and either a drinks or informal talk. Book group and informal talks will be held at the Interchange in Camden and drinks will be at various London locations.  Book Groups are on Tuesdays and Drinks and Talks are on Wednesdays.

We’re so excited to offer our very first breakfast event in the Denver metro area featuring a panel of distinguished Duke alumnae who have navigated the enormously challenging issue of work-life balance. We’re also excited to present our panelists “fishbowl” style, where panelists share their strategies and experiences with each other in an informative, casual conversational setting, and audience members can jump in and join the discussion at any time.

By now you all know that we use the term “coffee” loosely. With a variety of gatherings held around the state, you’ll find that each event is different, and you could experience anything from bowling or whiskey tasting to hiking and picnicking (and yes, coffee and cocktails) somewhere in your vicinity. This is the event that brings us “home” to our Duke experience even though we’re 1,600 miles from campus.  Be on the lookout for exact dates and locations coming soon.

Duke Baltimore and Duke Women’s Forum joined forces on July 16 to help clean up Herring Run in conjunction with Blue Water Baltimore as part of Duke Alums Engage 2016. Alums brought their families for a fun couple of hours engaging with other Blue Devils while cleaning up the stream.

Giving back and supporting others is part of the Duke culture, and on August 26 Duke alumnae gave their time offering support in a very tangible way. The Baltimore Women’s Forum sponsored an evening at Ronald McDonald House where they cooked dinner and provided fun evening activities for the families residing there.

On May 19, DukeLaw NorCal and NorCal Women's Forum co-hosted a fascinating panel of female General Counsels from a range of Bay Area companies.  Harvard Law collaborated on the event, following a model successfully executed with a Women in Judiciary panel co-hosted with Stanford Law Alumni Association.  DLA Piper through partner and event moderator Michael Torosian L'00 generously hosted the event providing a venue centrally located on the peninsula as well as hosting catering.

The DukeDC Women's Forum gathered for Spring 2016 Neighborhood Coffees thanks to the support and organization of 14 alumnae hostesses and family members, as well as DukeDC Regional Co-Chair and Women's Forum Steering Committee member Anna Pfeiffer '77.  Duke women of all ages met for informal get-togethers and enjoyed a glass of wine or other beverage, light fare and meaningful conversation.
