Explore Europe’s stunning Moselle Valley. On an unforgettable summer cruise, visit charming villages and ancient ruins in this picturesque region that spans western Germany, eastern France,and Luxembourg. Immerse yourself in the valley’s rich history, including a heritage of viticulture dating back when Roman conquerors nurtured the region’s thriving vineyards, and savor delectable cuisine and world-renowned wine. Begin in Frankfurt, where a curator will guide you through the Städel Museum’s magnificent art collection. Spend two nights in the medieval university town of Heidelberg and wander the ruins of its romantic hilltop castle. Then board Princesse Royal, a Dutch-style riverboat with only 15 staterooms, for a seven-night voyage along the Moselle. Stop in enchanting towns, including Trier, Germany’s oldest city, with its UNESCO-listed Roman ruins and early Christian churches, and Traben-Trarbach, with its Art Nouveau mansions. Disembark in Metz, France, for a private tour of the awe-inspiring Cathédrale Saint Etienne de Metz, featuring the world’s largest expanse of stained glass.
