Provence and the French Côte d’Azur conjure visions of sunny olive groves, lavender fields and the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône. Settle in Avignon and begin your exploration with a visit to the Palace of the Popes and a cruise on the Rhône. Continue on to see Arles and its Roman amphitheater, the hilltop village of Les Baux, and St. Remy where Van Gogh once lived. Visit Châteauneuf-du-Pape, known for its superb wine. Marvel at the ingenious Pont du Gard, the three-level Roman aqueduct. On the drive to Cannes, discover the town of Aix-en-Provence. Explore Cannes and nearby Sainte-Marguerite Island. Discover glamorous Monaco and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and the exquisite Villa de Rothschild. Local guides and expert speakers provide fascinating insights during included excursions and lectures.
