2016 DEMAN Weekend

Over 600 Duke students and alumni attended the 7th annual DEMAN Weekend 2016. Each November, DEMAN Weekend invites alumni working in creative industries such as film, comedy, dance, marketing, music, tech, sports and journalism to lead workshops and share advice to help each other navigate creative industries for jobs and internships, whether beginning or advancing their careers.

In addition to the workshops, DEMAN Weekend 2016 began with a keynote conversation featuring HBO's Comedy Development SVP, Amy Gravitt '95, and MSNBC host JJ Ramberg '92 at the Nasher Museum moderated by entertainment correspondent/host Dave Karger '95.

Alumni: How to Connect @ DEMAN

We have compiled a list that is a representative sample of some of the arts focused groups that align with DEMAN initiatives. Duke has over 600 organizations that can be searched at dukegroups.com or via contacting the University Center Activities & Events (UCAE) office directly for more information. The largest programming and media body on campus is the Duke University Union

Some categories have a large number of groups on campus (for example dance, improv, and acapella) and thus are not fully represented below. Use the sites above for more details. Many of the groups noted span the Duke campus and are applicable beyond the undergraduate population.
