DEMAN Arts & Media Weekend is the annual signature event at Duke that brings together students and alumni interested in creative industries and features workshops, receptions, master classes, and more.

DEMAN Weekend 2017 Recap

Over 850 alumni, students and faculty participated in the 8th annual DEMAN Weekend, the biggest one yet!
Here are a few highlights: 

  • Friday's DEMAN Talks hosted by nine academic departments, and the keynote conversation and reception at the Nasher Museum
  • President Price and Vice Provost for the Arts Scott Lindroth's alumni breakfast, followed by a tour of the Rubenstein Arts Center
  • Saturday's DEMAN Lounge with one-on-one portfolio reviews with DEMAN alumni and resume reviews by career counselors
  • Saturday's Industry sessions with over 80 alumni across creative industries and wrap party at the Devil's Krafhouse

Alumni: How to Connect @ DEMAN

We have compiled a list that is a representative sample of some of the arts focused groups that align with DEMAN initiatives. Duke has over 600 organizations that can be searched at or via contacting the University Center Activities & Events (UCAE) office directly for more information. The largest programming and media body on campus is the Duke University Union

Some categories have a large number of groups on campus (for example dance, improv, and acapella) and thus are not fully represented below. Use the sites above for more details. Many of the groups noted span the Duke campus and are applicable beyond the undergraduate population.
