Back on Campus: A TV producer, a Journalist, a General

Adam Chodikoff ’93, a senior producer and a fact-checker at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, spoke to students at Duke Entertainment, Media and the Arts Network (DEMAN) Weekend in early November. Chodikoff talked about his role in fact-checking news to help Jon Stewart prepare his jokes. “Without credibility, the jokes mean nothing,” Chodikoff said.

Judy Woodruff ’68, Hon. ’98, co-anchor and managing editor of the PBS NewsHour, returned to campus in late October to talk about women in the workplace. “Women today have more choices than they have ever had, more opportunities,” Woodruff said. “At the same time, we recognize the tradeoffs to take advantage of those choices haven’t really gotten a whole lot easier,” reports The Chronicle.

General Martin Dempsey A.M. ’84, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited the Fuqua School of Business in November to talk to participants of the 2013 Fuqua/Coach K Leadership Summit. His message: in the end, we can only be ourselves. Dempsey is this year’s graduation speaker.
