From the medieval Belgian city of Bruges to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, the new boutique riverboat Magnifique IV allows you to feel immersed in the region’s charming and storied landscapes. OPTIONAL PRELUDE: only open every 10 years, arrive a day early and visit The Floriade Expo 2022.

Go behind the scenes in the charming town of Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the canals, cobblestones and medieval buildings. Explore the Groeninge Museum for works by Jan van Eyck and other great Flemish artists, see Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child in the Church of Our Lady, and meet a local artist.

Then, embark Magnifique IV for a seven-night cruise through storybook villages and idyllic countryside. Explore the Belgian cities of Antwerp, where you will visit the Rubens House, and Dendermonde, known for its spectacular Flemish buildings. Visit historic Dordrecht, stopping to see the Great Church, the Dordrecht Museum, and a medieval monastery. Call at Ghent for a splendid opportunity: be among the first to behold Jan van Eyck’s newly restored Ghent Altarpiece in its original home at Saint Bavo’s Cathedral.

In Holland, travel to Kinderdijk to view impressive windmills at a UNESCO World Heritage Site and on to Amsterdam to admire the splendid masterpieces of the Rijksmuseum and its world-famous canals.
