Vikas Patel"As I lead our alumni to the end of our first 100 years and into our second century, we will be celebrating our journey and embracing our future. Our Mission
On behalf of the Duke alumni community and its Board of Directors, CDEI works to infuse all on- and off-campus alumni programming and engagement opportunities with clear, consistent and measurable strategies for inclusion, equity and representation of our ever-evolving alumni body.

Alumni Spotlight: Michael Ivory Jr. '18

An alumnus ponders whether the university is really ready to reckon with its past.

The problem of racism is a problem of roots. It is just as much a question of what nourishes life as we know and understand it, as it is about what antagonizes so many people's right to live. Racism is often spoken of as a barrier. Too infrequently is it addressed as something that enables and permits.
