Make a difference the Duke way

Duke Alums Engage

At Duke you learned to make your knowledge count – to see challenges in your community as opportunities to apply your insights. Our signature program, Duke Alums Engage, helps alumni fulfill their commitment to learn and serve. Inspired by the same values at the core of the DukeEngage undergraduate service-learning program, Duke Alums Engage helps alumni tap into the spirit of knowledge in service to society – to change your world in a uniquely Duke way.

Sanford Serves

Explore an additional way to contribute through Sanford Serves organized by the Development and Alumni Relations Team at Sanford School of Public Policy.

Terry Sanford is one of North Carolina and Duke’s most influential, servant-minded figures, known for his outrageous ambition and belief in service learning. He dedicated his life to ethical leadership and public life, qualities that form the core of the Duke Sanford school’s mission. In honor of Duke’s Centennial and the Sanford School’s namesake, Duke alumni from all over the world are invited to join Duke Sanford through May 2024 in performing community service towards the goal of improving our world .  Our collective goal is to serve 100 hours, so whether you set aside 30 minutes or 3 hours, your time will help us reach our goal!
