From the headwaters of the mighty Amazon to living Inca culture, embark on a bucket-list adventure over 9 action-packed days in Peru. Your expedition begins in Lima—Peru’s thriving capital. Drive through the Sacred Valley, and learn about traditional art with a demonstration of Inca weaving at a special lunch. Enjoy a scenic train ride along the Urubamba River Inkaterra Machu Picchu. You’ll have a full day to explore this historic sanctuary before heading to Cusco, the imperial capital of the Inca.

Then fly north to Iquitos in the Amazon. Travel to the sleepy riverside village of Nauta, where the 28-guest Delfin II awaits, and enjoy a welcome dinner featuring local, sustainable ingredients. Set out on daily excursions via skiff or kayak to spot sloths, monkeys, tamarins, and noisy howlers. Keep an eye out for an astounding variety of birds including vibrant parrots and scarlet macaws. In the lively river, spot massive paiche fish, rare pink dolphins, and of course, the infamous piranha as we explore narrow tributaries and the seasonally flooded forest. Enrich your upper Amazon voyage meeting locals in river villages and learn about the sustainability efforts that keep these communities thriving.
