Four Course Dinner: Sierra Leone - A Duke Woman's Mission Experience

January 24, 2018 in Denver, CO

Duke women gathered for an inspiring talk by Carol Madren Bedin '88 and her travel partner, Nancy Knight, about their life-changing volunteer work on a mission trip with Serving Sierra Leone. Serving Sierra Leone works to improve the health, education, agricultural practices and economic opportunities in one of the least developed countries in the world by building schools, clinics and churches in Kabala, a village of about 6,000 people in northern Sierra Leone. Attendees left the dinner touched and amazed at the work that has been done with people who have so little but remain so positive and joyful!
