Dear DukeNY Alumni,

We have a longstanding history of volunteering to help others in our community.

We are once again very excited to team up with FeedingNY, an organization we have volunteered many times over the years to help pack Thanksgiving boxes. These are delivered to families in our community with the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner, including a turkey. These families might otherwise be without the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Please help us continue this tradition by joining our Duke NYC Alumni Team on Tuesday, November 26 from 6am-9am. The location is The Glasshouse, located ot 660 12th Avenue (West Side Highway between 48th and 49th Streets).

When registering, click “Join or Start a Team” and then join our team “Duke NYC Alums” (team leader Sue Gower). Donations of any amount are encouraged, but not required.

Please register by October 25 as the registration typically closes by that time per FeedingNY, and we want to be sure that you can join us!

Children who are old enough to help with packing are welcome. Many families have joined us with their children and left from there for school and work.

Please note our shift is the 6-9am shift. Typically, most participants stay a couple of hours during which time much of the work is done. How long you stay is totally up to you – we understand you may need to leave for work or other obligations. We love that! Of course, you are welcome to stay throughout the day if you are able.

This effort requires many volunteers, and your participation makes a difference. It’s a great way to start off your day and give back during our week of being “Thankful.”
