Duke Richmond and The Kenan Institute of Ethics are excited to announce the next Book Club selection, The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods

The Ruth W. Grant Book Clubs create a space for Duke alumni to build community and deepen their engagement with the intellectual life of the university through regional book clubs. The clubs select a book to read and are then paired with a Duke professor who leads a discussion of the book with the club.

About the book

The Lost Bookshop is a whimsical novel about three strangers who discover the extraordinary nature of their own lives after coming across a magical bookshop. Set against the backdrop of historical and modern-day Dublin, the three main characters find themselves transported to a world of wonder. Martha’s journey from an abusive past to a hopeful future intertwines beautifully with Henry’s scholarly quest and Opaline’s attempt to escape societal constraints. The Lost Bookshop celebrates the enduring power of books and illustrates how literature can bridge time and space.

The Kenan Institute will mail a free copy of the book to the first 20 registrants.
