The Duke Financial Economics Center (DFE) has named five graduating seniors as the 2023-2024 recipients of the DFE Leadership Award. They are Clare Abboud, Connor Booher, Valerie Deligiannis, Abhinav Kolli, and Blair Spencer.
Digital Assets at Duke (DA@D) will convene key industry players in the digital assets space, regulatory experts, and select researchers for two days of rigorous debate, discussion and education on Duke’s campus in Durham, North Carolina.

DFE faculty offered 12 finance courses in the Economics Department this spring semester. Across the 12 courses, enrollment totaled 269.
It is DFE’s great pleasure to announce that Itamar Barak ’21, Noah Karpel ’21, Eric Little ’21, and Hannah O’Sullivan ’20 have been named the 2020-2021 recipients of the DFE Leadership Award. This award is bestowed annually to seniors who have been dedicated to mentorship and leadership in finance activities in their time at Duke.

After the success of her online course Irrational Behavior in Financial Decision-Making this fall, DFE Teaching Director and Eads Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Economics Emma Rasiel will offer another online course to 9th-12th graders in spring 2021. The focus of the course will be personal finance, and it will run from April 12 to May 5.
In our masks and at our ad hoc work stations, we have come through a semester unlike any other. We are proud of the Duke community effort to keep everyone safe while students continued to learn. DFE has named seniors Karam Katariya and Julia Weidman as the 2019-2020 recipients of the DFE Leadership Award. Each spring, the DFE honors one to three seniors with the award for their initiative in finance-related activities at Duke, dedication to peer mentoring, and contributions to the center. Both Katariya and Weidman will graduate this May with B.S. degrees in economics with a concentration in finance.
